Set Design: Sweeney Todd

This thesis project reimagines a classic tale, Sweeney Todd through fresh visual lens.

The goal was to depart from the familiar dark and gritty aesthetic often associated with the story, and instead build a world that is fairytale-like, concealing the eery side of the narrative.

The inviting yet unsettling streets, interiors, and props were designed with warmth, rich colour, and details that hint at the characters’ sinister plans. This contrast allows the environment to serve as a silent storyteller - charming on the surface, yet quietly revealing the darkness that lies beneath.

The Nutcracker: Seollal Reimagining
A series of keyframe illustrations that reimagine The Nutcracker in an ancient Korean setting. Set during Seollal (Korean New Year) and staged within a traditional Hanok, the project blends classic storytelling with Korean culture through period-specific costume, architecture, and customs. The main environment was modeled in Maya to support accurate lighting, perspective, and composition in the final illustrations.
